 Aims To compare different historiographical schools of thought on causes of Cold War To develop skills in testing the views of leading historians of Cold War

6  Your task Complete a table similar to the one below on the different schools of thought (historiography) on p of Philips.

7  Your task Study the sources on p.61-2 and complete a table similar to the one below

8  Role play Divide into 4 groups. One of you is to take on the persona of the author of either source K, L, M or N and explain your point of view. Choose a partner to support your view with evidence from their own knowledge. The audience will interrogate you and try to put forward counter views.

9  Plenary Summarise the views of the three main schools of thought.
