Why the battle happened The British felt they needed to cut New England from the rest of the states in order to finally crush the revolution.

What happened in the battles 5,895 British and Hessian people and troops surrendered their arms. The battle of Saratoga was also a turning point of the Revolution War.

Advantages and Disadvantages Advantages They were fighting on their own ground Their greatest advantages was their leader George Washington. Disadvantages They had to wage war in a far away land were forced to ship soldiers and supplies thousands of miles across the Atlantic Ocean.
