Registration Currently the class has three students above the cap. If you were not here yesterday (except for Derian) you will not be able to add the class. Here is the waitlist order: Jemina, Kartik, Sonia, Jet, Kassandra If anyone drops the class then I will fill the spot with people according to the waitlist order.

Class Census What is your name? What city do you live in? Do you have a job (don’t say where)? Part-time or full- time? What is your major or what do you want to major in? What is your ethnicity/what are your ethnicities? Where were you born? Where did you go to high school? What was your first language? Is this your first year at De Anza? Do you belong to any student clubs or organizations?

In-class Writing You will have the whole class period tomorrow to answer this question: Why do people migrate? People who migrate do not necessarily cross national borders. Ground your writing in reality. Do not make claims that require documentation (in other words, claims that are questionable such as statistics). Do not do research for this essay. Limit your claims. You will not be able to write about all people at all times. It is ok if you state that you do not know an important fact, and you might even conclude by stating that you will try to find out about that fact.
