3. Reasons for Focusing on the Topic Using a PSA activity for this topic would engage the students in critical thinking to analyze the roles of the president for better overall understanding.

4. Activity 1.Define and describe each role and have the students take notes. 2.Put the students into 7 groups. Give each group a folder containing a primary source for each role (image, speech, memo, letter…) 3.Students will analyze each source and complete the questions provided to determine a role of the president. 4.Bring the class back together for discussion.
