Seminar Information l Seminar will be one full day, 14May(Wed), 9:30a-6:00p l Hosted by Sony Corporation l Breaks, lunch and reception afterwards in room next to seminar hall (divided large hall) l Morning session will be 3 hours, afternoon session 4 hours l All sessions will have simultaneous English/Japanese translation l Rehearsal with translators 13May(Tue), 4:00p-6:00p l Familiarize translators with material l Slides will be shown on two screens, with two options: 1) Both in English 2) One in English and one in Japanese l Japanese slides will be shown only if speaker provides a Japanese version of their slides

Morning Session (Tentative) l Welcome & Introduction (5 min) – Chuck Adams (IEEE-SA President-Elect & CAG Chair) l Welcome Keynote (15 min) – K. Kimura (or alternate Senior Sony Executive) l Can perhaps include discussion on coexistence and interoperability based on IEEE standards l Japanese government/ministry presentations (40 min) l MIC (20 min) – M. Matsumoto (Director General for Technology Policy Coordination Minister’s Secretariat) l Perhaps include discussion of their Cognitive Radio Study Group l METI (20 min) – K. Hirota (Secretary General of JISC, Director General for Technical Regulations, Standards and Conformity Assessment Policy Unit) l Alternate: A. Izumi (Director of Standardization Office for IT and Electrotechnology) l Selected standards themes as appropriate to their offices l Perhaps include discussion of regulatory environment that affects standards process

Morning Session (cont.) l IEEE-SA and global standards (1 hour) l Overview of SA (40 min) – Chuck Adams (IEEE-SA President-Elect) l IPR policy (20 min) – Speaker t.b.d. l Break (15-20 min) l Corporate/entity standards process (1 hour) l Corporate Program overview (30 min) – Bilel Jamoussi (CAG Member) l Example of entity process (30 min) – Dennis Brophy (CAG Member) l Generic example, with references to specific, successfully completed projects

Afternoon Session l Topics for the afternoon will be technical, covering 5 areas of IEEE-SA & especially Corporate Program activities l 1-2 speakers (preferably Japanese) per topic (20-30 min each) l Battery standards (45 min) l Battery Association of Japan will provide 2 speakers (20 min each) l Design automation (45 min) l DASC will provide 2 speakers (20 min each) l Dennis Brophy to confirm speakers at IEEE DASC / IEC meeting, 24 Jan in Japan l Broadband over power lines (30 min) l Break (15-20 min)
