Big Ideas Describe the concepts that transcend grade levels. Essential to provide focus on content for students

Concepts What students should know as a result of the instruction Specific to grade level

Essential Questions Questions are connected to the SAS framework Specific to the Big Idea Frame the student inquiry Promote critical thinking Assist in learning transfer

Vocabulary Terms related to standards, concepts and competencies Specific to grade level and content area

Exemplars Performance tasks that can be used for assessment and instruction An example of work that meets the criteria for the task Proven concrete examples of assessing student understanding of Big Ideas, Concepts and Competencies

Instruction Teaching topics aligned with the standards Correct level of challenge Focuses teaching to the needs of each student Implements instructional strategies to increase student achievement

Materials & Resources Incorporates learning progressions, units, lesson plans and content resources aligned to standards in the Framework by content area Spans grades K-12( specific courses 9-12) Courses include: Algebra 1, Algebra2, Geometry, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, World History(1450-present), US History (1890-present), Civics and Government, English Composition and Literature
