Do Now: Journal Entry #2 Answer the following in a 7-10 sentence response on a new sheet of paper: What childhood games did you used to play? Did you ever go on missions? Did you ever get in trouble for playing those games? Explain.

Books Reminder If you haven’t done so already, sign out a copy of To Kill a Mockingbird Treat it well. Don’t chew, digest, rip, burn or give away this book. And don’t leave it here in the classroom. Bring it with you EVERY DAY!!!!

Take out novel & study guide -We will discuss answers for ch. 3 & 4 -Fill in any missing/incorrect answers as you go

Take out your cell phone Go to apps store Search for any QR Code reader (it’s free) Download it No phone? No problem. You will work with someone who has a phone. EVERYONE in the meantime: Take out a sheet of lined paper. Fold it in half “hamburger” style. Label each section Code 1, Code 2, Code 3 and Code 4. Write your name at the top.

Instructions Analyze each quotation using the following guidelines in at least a full paragraph for each – Describe the context (what/who this quotation is about, referencing etc) Summarize the context. – Explain the quotation’s importance. What inferences/conclusions can readers make based on this quotation? Is this quotation true or making a valid point? Explain. What can you say about the characters’ traits in the quotation? What can you say about the characters’ roles in the quotation? How does this quotation help readers understand this novel better? What lessons are taught? Are they lessons we should be learning?
