2. internet safety and privacy  Don't share your personal information (full name, age, phone#, address, school, passwords, friends' names)  Talk with your family; parents are part of your online life, too.  Avoid flashy ads and contests  Check with your parents or guardians before filling out online forms

3. socializing online  instant messaging  chat rooms  e-mail  sites like Club Penguin  texting  multi-player gaming

4. privacy settings  Ask your parents or guardian to check the website's privacy policy, especially for kids  Have your parents help you set your privacy settings

5. stranger danger Don’t agree to meet anyone in person that you've only "met" online. If someone online asks you to meet or asks where you live, tell an adult right away. Save the evidence: keep the email, text, IM, or post.

6. viruses  Viruses can make your computer "sick": it might get too slow for games or stop working completely.  Viruses can be disguised as advertisements, contests, games, or an email from a friend.  Don't click on unfamiliar links, attachments or flashing signs.

7. netiquette  Don't use all capital letters (it looks like you are SHOUTING).  Be polite and respectful.  Remember that screen names belong to real people; be aware of people's feelings.  Respect the privacy of others (and protect your own!) Netiquette means how to have good manners when you're on the internet.
