4 What is Recruitment? Recruitment is an important function of a business because: “In all businesses, people are a vital resource” The aim of the recruitment and selection process is to obtain the number and quality of employees that are required in order for the business to achieve its objectives.

5 Job Description Sets out the purpose of a job Where the job fits into the organisational structure Lists main responsibilities and key tasks ADVANTAGES: Informs applicants about the main duties of the job; Helps companies find the right person for a job
