2. Fiddleheads Fiddleheads are a green that grows seasonally along brooks and rivers. My plan is to grow fiddleheads year round in a hydrophilic facility and market and sell over the internet. Eventually through high search ability I plan to fully develop the niche market.

3. Competitors and Market Conditions After spending an 30 minutes on the Internet, I could only find one vendor. One article stated that fiddleheads can be bought for $8 to $12 a pound. http://www.fitsugar.com/1590466http://www.fitsugar.com/1590466 The one vendor requires bulk orders of over fifty pounds. The niche market of small orders is not filled and I plan to fill it.

4. Technology The website will be on a web-hosting service such as Go-Daddy. This will greatly reduce cost. Company financials and credit card information will be kept and processed with QuickBooks. Some technologies that do not directly involve E- commerce are hydrophilic tanks, fiddlehead cleaners and a plant to store everything in

5. Product Differentiation The fiddleheads will be sold fresh to local buyers and either frozen or canned to those who can’t be reached by next day shipping. Bulk orders will be sold at a discount and delivered personally depending on location. Different sized packages will appeal to different buyers. Accessory products like cookbooks and specialized utensils will also be for sale.

6. Shipping The shipping will be done by UPS because my research indicates that they are the cheapest and most accessible. Some packages need insulated containers. Local and large orders will be delivered in person.

7. Viability If the company can get past the early financing stage, the company will prosper into the future. Interest payments are a big factor in viability. Low capital requirements for the e-commerce side of business is a major plus.
