Giuseppe Arcimboldo The following paintings are made up of parts The faces are made from objects and express the elements and also the seasons Your mission is to choose an intangible subject such as Anger, Love, or and choose appropriate parts to make a human portrait of that subject For example for Spring you could choose to make a face out of flowers, for Anger you could choose to make face out of growling dogs and sharp implements like knives, cleavers, saw blades, etc, and for Soft you could choose to make a face out of bunnies, babies, cotton balls, dandelion tufts, pillows, etc. You should begin to learn how to choose a concept and illustrate it in this assignment as well as use Photoshop’s selection, transformation, and paint brush tools. You’ll also learn the importance of layer order, layer naming, folders, layer masks, and blending modes. The challenge is choosing objects and keeping their integrity. You may only transform them by rotating or scaling them. Anything that would distort their form is against the rules. Spring
