Today’s Goal: To examine an author’s specific use of ethos in order to enhance the piece’s overall argument On your piece of butcher paper, create a large PAPA square with your group. Purpose: What is the desired outcome of the argument? Audience: Who is the audience? Persona: What is the public image of the author that is created by his language choices and tone? Argument: What is the thesis or argument being made? Draw the PAPA square, label it, include the article title and author at the top. Answer the question for each section and provide at least two properly cited quotes and/or paraphrases for each answer. Use markers and make it neat. Due Today: Group PAPA and “I Have a Dream” Annotations Handouts/Pieces Read: “I Have a Dream” Group PAPA Out of Class: NONE!
