2 Population There are 626,932 people who live in Alaska. There are 2,966,334 people who live in Iowa. There are about 5 times as many people in Iowa as there are in Alaska.

3 Area The land of Alaska covers 656,425 square miles. The land of Iowa covers 56,276 square miles. Alaska is more than 10 times bigger than Iowa.
