3) The Passive Voice ※ The Active Voice A few of trees can be cut each year for firewood. 2) 我把窗户擦了。 → I cleaned the window. 窗户被我擦了。 → The window was cleaned (by me). 她把作业做完了。 → She finished the homework. 作业被她做完了。 → The homework was finished (by her). → People can cut a few of trees each year for firewood.

The Passive Voice ※ The Active Voice It is operated by the women of the area. → The women of the area operate the meeting. 4. make sure: to arrange that something will certainly happen e.g. Make sure you get here before midnight. ※ make sure + clause 5. 1.2 million = 1,200,000 Read as: 1) ‘one million two hundred thousand’ 2) ‘one point two million’ e.g. 7.58 million (7,580,000) Read as:1) ‘seven million five hundred and eighty thousand’ 2) ‘seven point fifty-eight million’
