1
Hello, my name is Tascu-Stavre Minodora I teach History and Civic Culture in a Special Secondary School from Craiova - Dolj, a city from Romania.
2
The Arts and Crafts School educates students who lost their liberty as a result of violations of law.
3
My students are Romanians, Hungarians and Gypsies aged between 15 and 21 years who have indicated their willingness to participate in educational courses organized specifically for such students. Most of them comes from poor or disorganized families with a very low level of education.
4
One of my role is to make them understand what it means to live in a civilized society. Therefore, I try to find and improve new teaching methods and strategies by which students be encouraged to actively engage.
5
I chose the training course in Malta because it plans to train teachers who work in prisons and detention centers and to shar experiences in terms of education in such institutions.
6
Topics presented to the course (Education, Human Rights, training and key skills) are found in discipline curriculum for civic culture, and information provided on persons deprived of their liberty, their needs, problems faced by systems education organized for this type of education relevant to my professional course.
7
My participation in training in your course will offer me a new perspective on educational activities carried out by minors and young people deprived of freedom of the institution where I work because I enjoy working on new methodologies that you can adapt to work with youth.
8
I'll be able to compare different education systems and to appreciate the educational value and quality of Romanian education system, to work with teachers and staff employed in prisons and detention centers in other countries.
9
By participating in your training activities will offer School of Arts and Crafts Craiova the open cooperation with similar education institutions in Europe.
10
I’ll promote results and expectations of a certain categories of persons less known and appreciated (children and young people deprived of their liberty due to violations of law, ethnic groups (Roma, Hungarian, Romanian)) and integration into a common European system of lifelong learning for both the less favored people, but also for other teachers.
