UNIT 3 POLYNOMIALS 5-1 Graphing Polynomials
2
Key Terms for Classifying Polynomials Define: Polynomial – is a monomial or a sum/difference of monomials. Define: Degree – is the greatest exponent among all terms. Define: Turning Points (A.K.A. relative max/min) – places where the graph changes direction Define: End Behavior – directions (up or down) of the graph to as it goes towards negative infinity and as it goes towards positive infinity.

Graphing Polynomials To graph a polynomial Type into y= Find all turning points (2 nd trace max/min) Find points on either side of turning points GRAPH Graph: label turning points, and determine the end behavior > > Relative Max Relative Min
