WISE CHOICES IN COLLEGE : WRITING Review all of the writing strategies presented in On Course and choose the one you think would most to improve your writing. Join a partner and explain the strategy you have chosen and why. Use your best active listening skills to be sure you understand your partner’s choice. Join another pair and each person explain the strategy his/her partner chose and why.

Developing the Topic Each student gets one envelope with 13 cards inside –Remove the cards –Write your topic on the outside of the envelope in the form [topic] & [claim]. –Keep the cards and pass your envelope to the next student When you receive an envelope –Read the topic statement –On a card, write a probing question about the topic –Place the card with the question into the envelope and pass the envelope to the next student Continue process till each student has written a question on each topic Return envelope with cards to original student –Use fellow student’s question to create a concept map or question outline –Find research that answers major questions
