Quarterly Reporting 2015-16 Progress Reporting and Performance Management for Receivership Schools Each Quarterly Report Consists of… Executive Summary Key Strategies Receivership Actions Analysis of Indicators Fiscal/Budget Management Quarterly reports are intended to be completed by the superintendent (or his/her designee), or by EPO leadership and verified for accuracy

Quarterly Reporting 2015-16 Progress Reporting and Performance Management for Receivership Schools GreenExpected results for this phase of the project are fully met, work is on budget, and the school is fully implementing this strategy with impact. YellowSome barriers to implementation/outcomes/ spending realized; with adaptation/correction school will be able to achieve desired results. RedMajor barriers to implementation/outcomes/ spending encountered; results are at-risk for not being realized, major strategy adjustment is required. Self-assessment represents rigorous reflection on the part of the district/EPO

Quarterly Reporting 2015-16 Progress Reporting and Performance Management for Receivership Schools Quarterly Reports should be submitted on: October 30 th, 2015 January 29 th, 2016 April 29 th, 2016 July 29 th, 2016 Reports should be sent electronically to both Receivership@NYSED.gov and Turnaround@NYSED.gov Receivership@NYSED.govTurnaround@NYSED.gov and posted to the district’s web-site.

Quarterly Reporting 2015-16 Progress Reporting and Performance Management for Receivership Schools Do’s and Don'ts DO solicit feedback from key stakeholders within the school, district and community-at-large DO NOT use acronyms and/or terms uncommon to the community at-large when writing the Executive Summary DO provide evidence of impact when discussing strategies, actions and analyses DO NOT leave any sections of the quarterly report blank or unanswered DO allow community engagement teams an opportunity to review and provide input before submitting to NYSED

Performance Review Calls 2015-16 Progress Reporting and Performance Management for Receivership Schools Who?When?What to Expect? District Superintendent Or EPO Leadership Big Five (NYC, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Yonkers) MONTHLY Discussion of performance as described in current quarterly report. District-Level staff responsible for oversight/support and reporting All other districts and EPO-led schools QUARTERLY Questions/ clarification of quarterly report with emphasis on evidence and impact

Performance Review Calls 2015-16 Progress Reporting and Performance Management for Receivership Schools Performance Management Means: Methodically and routinely monitoring the connection between the work being done and the goals that are sought Discussions that are outcomes-based rather than compliance- based Building the capacity of all parties involved to specifically monitor, assess and support the needs of the school Transparent self-assessment, critical feedback, and understanding the sense of urgency Specific and time-phased next steps

On-site Monitoring 2015-16 Progress Reporting and Performance Management for Receivership Schools NYSED staff may, depending on need, conduct on-site visits to any one or a number of schools under Receivership in a district. May be conducted with or without notification, and district staff may or may not be present If a school selects one of the Tenets as an indicator, an Integrated Intervention Team (ITT) will schedule and conduct an NYSED-led on-site review. Debriefing may occur on-site at the time of the visit, at the district office at the conclusion of a series of visits, or in written form as a document sent to the district electronically.
