PRESENTATION OUTLINE WHAT IS A REPOSITORY? OPEN ACCESS WHAT IS CADAIR’S FUNCTION? CADAIR’S CONTENT STRUCTURE CHALLENGES OF POPULATING AN IR BENEFITS MANDATES
4
A repository is a mechanism for managing and storing digital content from a range of publication and research sources. It is both part of an institution’s local information provision and part of the developing global Open Access information environment www.rsp.ac.uk
5
“If an article is "Open Access" it means that it can be freely accessed by anyone in the world using an internet connection. This means that the potential readership of Open Access articles is far, far greater than that for articles where the full-text is restricted to subscribers. Evidence shows that making research material Open Access increases the number of readers and significantly increases citations to the article.” www.sherpa.ac.uk
