Students attending Scriber have access to athletics and classes at their home high schools, such as music and foreign language, Intra-District and Sno-Isle vocational program offerings, and Running Start Monday- Friday 8:35 a.m. - 2:15 p.m. - 3 period days + Family and SSR A SCRIBER LAKE HIGH SCHOOL SCHOOL DAY

It’s about Family Each student is a part of the Scriber Family + Each student is part of a Family Class Family is a class where students and their Family-Advisor monitor progress, plan for graduation & celebrate success

9 th Grade Students Each 9 th grade student is enrolled in the 9 th grade Academy and 9 th grade Entry classes The focus of the Entry program is to help students understand themselves as learners and to develop and work on their academic and personal goals

9 th Grade Academy 9 th Grade Students take English, History, Math, and Science together

Mini Courses Twice a year, between quarters, we have week-long class. Students get to focus on and earn credit in one subject area for the entire week! Some of the mini courses that have been offered include: Science of Breadmaking Pottery Fit Zone Experiencing Seattle Unforgettable Films The 60’s Digital Photography

Integrated Courses Advantages: Team-taught Integrate curriculum across content areas Offer experiential learning opportunities INSTEP (Interdisciplinary Studies Environmental Program)

Competency Based Learning Intended for: Students who may have failed a class and are behind Students who can demonstrate competency in a subject area, even if they did not pass the class earlier in HS Students who are passing all of their classes and want to do more or have more challenge Students who would like to finish early

Transportation There is no district transportation to Scriber Lake High School Students living a mile or more from school will be issued an ORCA Pass that will be reloaded each month

Application Process Students: Attend information meeting Complete application packet Return completed application to the Scriber Counseling Office Schedule an interview for the following week Interview with an administrator or counselor If accepted, then you can choose between your Home High School & Scriber Lake High School
