1. SPRING TRIP TO AMERICA Saturday, March 5 Depart for the United States Depart from Austria for Washington-Dulles International Airport. Flight details to be provided later. Sunday, March 6 Free Day with Host Families Spend today relaxing and getting to know your host families. Monday, March 7 Washington, DC Meet at your host school and board a bus for Washington, DC. We’ll visit Arlington Cemetery, the burial place of America’s war heroes before walking across the river to the Lincoln, Korean and Vietnam Memorials. Return to your host community to relax for the evening with your host families. Tuesday, March 8 Washington, DC No visit would be complete without stopping by the famous Smithsonian Museums. Begin with a visit to the most popular of them all – the Air & Space Museum – to learn about the history of aviation and space flight. Stop next at the Museum of American History. Go on a scavenger hunt to find some of the interesting displays while you learn about their significance in our past. Return to host families in the evening. Wednesday, March 9 Washington, DC Enjoy an interactive learning session at the Newseum where you will construct a newspaper filled with important events that you create. After exploring the Newseum, we’ll visit the U.S. Capitol for a tour of the place where Congress works. Walk to the White House for a photo before heading back to your host community. Thursday, March 10 Baltimore, Maryland Travel to another U.S. city known for its blue-collar roots. Begin with a visit to the Museum of Industry to learn about the work history of Baltimore. Break for lunch before visiting the popular National Aquarium where you will see all kinds of aquatic animals, and climates and learn about the environment. Return to your host families in the evening.

2. SPRING TRIP TO AMERICA Friday, March 11 School Visit Day Spend today shadowing your host brother or sister around from class to class to see what life is like in an American high school. In the evening, prepare for a presentation to your host families to show them what life is like in Austria. Afterwards enjoy a Thanksgiving style meal with your American families. Saturday, March 12 & Sunday, March 13 Free Days with Host Families Spend your final two days with your host families, and prepare for your journey to New York City on Monday. Monday, March 14 New York City Say good bye to your hosts and board a bus for the Amtrak Station in Washington, DC to travel to New York City. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and take the subway into Times Square for a visit of the famous center point of the city. Broadway show (optional). Tuesday, March 15 New York City Wake up in the morning and have breakfast. Then head to the Museum of Moving Images for a behind the scenes look at head into Manhattan to tour the 911 Memorial. Stroll through the well known neighborhoods of Wall Street, Chinatown, Little Italy and SoHo. Wednesday, March 16 Return to Austria All good things must come to an end. After breakfast, check out of the hotel and set off to the airport for your return flight to Austria. Share your memories of the U.S. with your families when you return home.
