A few studies indicate that as many as 20% to 30% of patients receive inappropriate care. The treatment of the elderly appears to be even more problematic. Many elderly do not receive proper treatment an estimated 44,000-98,000 elderly die each year due to medical errors such as inappropriate and contraindicated prescriptions per year and millions of cases of dose errors.

According to the World Health Organisation, vaccines are greatly reduce dieseases, death and disabiblity. Even though vaccines do not guarantee complete protection from a disease, many people still benefit from it and today, vaccines have an excellent safety record. In Singapore, schools have health screenings and vaccines for students and babies also have vaccination against illnesses which they are vulnerable to as infants such as scarlet fever.
