Participants will research statistics about Sexual Education and STD’s 2. Participants will dispel common myths about how youths feel about discussing Sex. 3. Participants will research how peer pressure affects the youth view of Sex.. Lifelong Learning Skills 1. Demonstration of how to explore Sexual Education beyond their own experiences/views. 2. Demonstration of their emotional views of what others are doing to address this issue 3. Demonstration of how to gain concrete knowledge and facts on the topic to equip them in making sound decisions on the topic of sex. Time Frame: 1 hour and 30 minutes Group Size: 20 – 30 Male and Female Participants Ability Level: High School Juniors and Seniors Class Material: Workshop Handouts

Procedure: Participants will be lead in a group activity that will afford them the opportunity to establish workshop rules (Community Agreement) to encourage a safe environment for group discussion. Ice Breaker: “What If…” Handout Introduce the Exercise – “Identifying Issues of Importance” Brainstorming Session III. Activity Defining –? Method of coming up with ideas – Participants are led in group discussions to discuss the Service Learning Project. They discuss how the topic of Sexual Education is discussed among today’s youth. And, What are the specific ways they could change how it is presented and what areas of the topic need the most attention. IV. Debriefing Participants will establish three principles discussed from the above exercise that my now be measured in participant service goals. Materials: Hand out “What If….” Time: 20-30 minutes Procedure: Tell the group that we will practice how to develop ideas and share them with one another. The Purpose of the Icebreaker is to loosen up your minds to actively thinking about things you wouldn’t normally. Instructions for the activity: Ask everyone to silently write down three of the wildest, most ambitious, or audacious “What if…?” ideas they can imagine to solve the challenge. In this fun, “anything goes” icebreaker activity, the more imaginative the concepts, the better! Afterward, have participants take turns sharing their “What if…?” ideas with the group.
