Stoich 2 LAB in a single replacement reaction, calculate how much iron it will take to form exactly X grams of copper. Fe (S) + CuSO 4(AQ) FeSO 4(AQ) + Cu (S) In this lab we will assume the iron (II) sulfate solution will form not the Iron (III) sulfate solution

Each team will “sign up” for a particular amount of copper to produce on the board. Each team will do the stoichiometric calculations to determine how much iron needs to be added to the sulfate solution to do this. Your teacher must check and approve of your math before you measure. Procedure: measure your iron carefully in a beaker. Pour into that beaker the copper (II) sulfate solution. Swirl. Get a funnel with filter paper setup with a ring stand. Get a “catch” beaker. Put your initials, in ink, on the filter paper. Filter out the copper. Make sure you “wash out” the copper with an eyedropper with deionized water. Wash all the copper into the bottom of the filter paper. Put filter paper out to dry overnight (or two nights). Clean up, clean up, all glassware washed with soap, upside down to dry. Work on questions 2-7, possibly your cover page and intro as well.
