3.  1. I will act responsibly at all times in the laboratory. › No horseplay or rough housing › Keep voices down and noise to a minimum › No “OMG”

4.  2. I will follow all lab safety rules when in the classroom. › Before every experiment, I will go over lab-specific techniques and procedures to keep you safe. › Be sure you are attentive during this portion and every portion of the lab.

5.  3. I will follow all oral and written instructions provided by my teacher and never touch the equipment until instructed to do so. › Lab equipment will often be set up on the lab counters. You are not to touch them when you enter the room or until instructed to do so.

6.  4. I will wear my safety goggles when instructed to do so and protective aprons when necessary. › Eye wash stations

7.  5. I will immediately notify the teacher of an emergency. › No matter how small

8.  6. I will tie back long hair and remove jewelry while in the laboratory. › Jewelry traps chemicals - I will hold it for you ;) Hey…Jack…tie it back!

9.  7. I will not take chemicals or equipment out of the laboratory unless instructed to do so by the teacher.

10.  8. I will never eat or drink in the laboratory/classroom.

11.  9. I will not enter the chemical storage room at anytime.

12.  10. I know the locations of the fire extinguisher, fire blanket, and the safety shower/eyewash stations.

13.  11. I will keep my area in the laboratory clean especially after a laboratory activity. I will completely wipe down the lab station at the end of the activity and dispose of all chemicals as directed.  oil and water oil and water

14.  12. I will wash my hands at the end of each lab activity.

15.  13. I will wear closed-toed shoes on lab days.

16.  14. I will never work on a laboratory activity if the teacher is not present in the classroom. This includes after school sessions.
