What sentences should be cited in the paragraph below? Inequality in pay violates UDHR Article 23 which reads, “Everyone, without discrimination, has the right to equal pay for equal work.” While the government enforces this article, many independent corporations and businesses do not always respect this commandment. Equal payment for men and women has been a law since 1963. However, even today, it is still not practices in all US work places. This injustice occurs when women are doing the exact same jobs and have the same education as their male counterparts. The WAGE project estimates that the average wage gap, “costs women workers between $700,000 and $2 million annually.” ……….. Women in the US have a difficult time defending their right to equal pay because of a May 2007 Supreme Court Ruling that stipulates women must file a suit within 180 days after the discrimination occurs. Unfortunately, by the time women may suspect such discrimination, it may be too late to file. Works That Should be Cited “It’s Time for working Women to Earn Equal Pay.” AFL-CIO. 2010. American Federation of Labor. Web. 3 Feb. 2010. http://www.aflcio.org/issues/jobseconomy/women/equalpay/ “The Universal Declaration of Human Rights.” United Nations. 2010. Web. 5. Feb. 2010..
