Adults in their 20s often look back in their lives and see if they have made the right choices and will see if they can make the right choices for their future.

Some main goals for early adulthood would be, to settle down, have a good job, get married and have children

In our past the man has played the dominate roll in marriage, but recently society has changed making there roll’s equal.

In the U.S. today most people marry primarily for love. Marriage did not become wide spread in western society until the 1800’s Another propose of marriage was to provide a stable home life in which to have many children.

It is the ability to create, originate, and produce. According to Erikson’s mind generativity adds meaning to the lives of adults, and it helps them to maintain and enhance their self-esteem.

This relates to middle adult hood by people often in positions in which they can perform exercise’s that are particularly important.

In some people this could be a second period of reassessment. A middle aged person who see’s younger people advancing in their lives might feel depressed.

A parent with two or more teenagers can feel less needed by their children. They can get the sense that they have lost their purpose in life. Generally midlife crisis is seen as negative. People are usually overwhelmed by the crushing reality's of their lives.

It is the term applied to the feelings of emptiness and loss mothers and fathers will sometimes feel after their children have left home to establish their own lives. Another thing if the mothers have never worked outside of the home it can be very difficult to be away from their children.
