Outline Why we start the project? Dormv6 project. Conclusion
3
Why we start the Dormv6 Project? In in past years (advertisement): We are ready for IPv6 environment. Your OS is ready! Translate ALG is ready! Everything is ready! You will feel nothing different with IPv4 Is that true ? Let’s test it! Stop search for Kill-AP. Try to use ipv6 in daily life today. How to test? “Force” the student to use native-IPv6 environment! We don’t use DSTM… We don’t want to use sDSTM We can’t find free DSTM software in WinXP Trust me! It ’ s Ture~~~

Remind the Target Make sure we are ready for IPv6 translate. Focus on the normal people, not engineer We must use the general & commercial environments. Say: Yes to WinXP, No to Linux. FreeBSD Say: Yes to Cisco, No to private implementation. Say: Yes to …, NO to special implementation.

The real people, the real traffic
18
What we find after the test Microsoft is not ready in IPv6?? Cisco is not ready..?? Student change their habits.~~~~~ ……some applications give up wait for IPv6 or use IPv4 socket proxy to pass NAT.
19
What are the student really want?!! WWW/ telnet (BBS)/ webmail eMule, BT they don’t know what is “FTP”!! PPstream~ AntTV online Game.
20
Three kind of Software IPv6 is OK! IE, Putty, MediaPlayer, Norton IPv6 maybe work! (using ALG can save the problem) MSN, ICQ, BT, eMule (need some settings) IPv6 can’t work PCMAN, Kaspersky, SKYPE... Online game.
21
The benefit to pure IPv6 network Most of the online game can’t work Most of the hacker tool writing in IPv4. BT can’t work. It’s a good news for a company or school.
22
In 2007 We will upgrade the ipv6 network to whole building. Continue to test native ipv6 is good enough or not! Provide more applications from RD div. Test the DSTM network in Windows platform. We need your application! louk@louk.dyndn.sorg
23
Killer Services over IPv6 Killer Application Task Force 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 VoIPv6 Personv6 Campusv6 Carv6 HealthCarev6

Conclusion IPv6 is ready for some limited area. (ex: PC room) Time is our friend~~~ Outlook 2007! Vista! New MSN.. New…etc
