10. The 1 st of September This is the first day of a new school year The Day of Knowledge All 650 students with their relatives gather at the schoolyard and watch the concert, at the end of it everybody makes a wish and let the balloon into the air (it’s a very colourful action.

13. The Day of Dancing Leaves (Teacher’s Day) We have more than 50 teachers in our Lyceum

14. The 19 th of October is the National Lyceums’Day In 19 th 1811 was opened a lyceum in Tzarskoe Selo. Alexander Segeevich Pushkin, a great Russian poet was one of the first student there. Every year on the 19 th of October we have unusuall lessons connected with Pushkin.

15. We selebrate Halloween at the 31st of November. This day we go to the party and wear costumes. Halloween

16. The Birthday of our Lyceum Last year we celebrated the 18 th birthday. Every class prepares congratulations (songs, dances, poems, plays) and shows on the stage.

17. Christmas Day On the 25th of December Santa Claus with the Ice Princes and Dwafs come from one classroom to another and congratulate the students and give them sweet presents.

18. New Year Day This day we decorate New Year Tree, wear costumes of different heroes from well known fairy tales, sing song and dance round the New Year Tree

19. The Day of Courage and generosity On the 23d of February we celebrate a day in honour of all the men in our Lyceum. The girls sing songs,dance and read poems from the stage

20. Ladies’ Day On the 8 th of March we have an International Women’s Day Our boys congratulate all women, they sing, dance, read poems and prepare presents to the girls and women

21. Nauryz This is a Kazakh New Year. We celebrate it on the 22d of March. The nature begin to wake up after winter. People cook national food besparmak (it means five fingers, because we may eat the dish with the fingers).

22. The day of National Culture On the 1 st of May we have a festival of all nationalities, representatives of which study at the Lyceum. There study children of nineteen nationalities.

23. The Last Bell On the 25 th of May our students of the 11 th form have their last school day. Then they pass the exams and go to the “adult life”. They try to show all the best in this day. The girls wear the uniform which took place in 90-s years.
