Many Deaf Subscribe to "Supplemental Security Income" (SSI) which is a form of government support. The sign for "receive SSI" is the same as the sign for "subscribe/subscription." It means "to get regularly." It can also be interpreted as "being on the dole." Why subscribe? Because they can’t find a job.
