4. Main character, Llewyn Davis, is loosely based on a folk singer named Dave Von Ronk, who earned the title “Mayor of Macdougal Street” because of his presence on the scene. Never “made it” like Dylan, who earned prominence as a powerful performer and talented songwriter.

7. The songs featured in the film were all fairly carefully chosen and arranged to enhance the storyline. Many of them echo what is happening with the character’s lives. The producers of the film have stated that the events of the film are much like the events told of in a folk song.
