Winning the War (14.3 Review) 1. What happened in 1917 in Russia? Bread riots lead to a revolution which overthrew the Russian monarchy 2. How did that impact the Great War? Lenin removes Russia from the war. Germany can now concentrate on the Western Front.

Germans lift restrictions on sub warfare Germans send note to Mexican ambassador to encourage support in return for help reclaiming NM, TX and AZ territories. Terms Total war: channeling of a nation’s entire resources into the war effort. Conscription: “the draft” which required all young men to be ready for military or other service. Contraband: military supplies or raw materials needed to make these supplies
