Before we begin to learn the operations, we need to learn some terminology The number on the top of any fraction is called: The NUMERATOR The number on the bottom of any fraction is called: The DENOMINATOR

Different Types of Fractions Fractions come in three forms: examples: These are all PROPER fractions 1) PROPER FRACTIONS have a value less than 1 (In plain English, the small number is on the top the big number is on the bottom) small BIG
