4 Physical Development Gross Motor Skills What does gross motor skills mean? What are some ways a 2-3 year old might play to develop gross motor skills? What is the difference between a 3-4 year old using stairs and an adult using stairs? What happens to a child’s skills at each age as they practice and learn new skills? Fine Motor Skills What does fine motor skills mean? What is an example of a fine motor skill a two year old might work on? What is the difference between a two or three year old using a crayon as compared to a 4-5 year old?

5 Homework: Physical Due Next Class_________ Bring in a picture of a gross or fine motor skill OR Bring in a pre-school activity of a gross or fine motor skill. You must write one or two sentences explaining what type of motor skill you chose and why it is either a gross or fine motor skill. This is an example of a fine motor skill. The reason it is a fine motor skills is because using a crayon or pencil helps to build up the small muscles in a child’s hand.
