But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse (Malachi 4:4-6 NIV).

8. Hearts Turned Home Failure to repent causes generational bondage to sin as well as rifts in father/child relationships. Those of you who are left will waste away in the lands of their enemies because of their sins; also because of their fathers' sins they will waste away (Leviticus 26:39 NIV).
