I thought my rock was getting antsy. I was not in any trouble. I leaped After a couple of hours I was out, and as happy as a clam. I leaped for joy, but my rock on the other hand was mad. Since we were studying rocks in science, my teacher cut him to see if there were minerals inside him. Bill was a dull rock so the class did not find any sparkly or odd colored fragments. Even though Bill was cut open and sent to the office we had a spectacular time at school. I dedicate this book to my sister Maggie. I learned everything from her. 9

8 One day I was walking down a hill that I seldom use to get to the colossal house I call home. I saw a tiny little rock that I had to kick. The wind whistled through the air as the dried magma flew towards a building. I thought to myself, it would be so cool if it landed in my backyard. I cherished the moment it was airborne. In that humble moment I heard the smallest scream coming from the air. Crash! I prayed that was not the living room window. I ran to the broken window by the garage. Crunch! Crunch! My breath faded as soft as a whisper. Then I saw the rock and asked if he was ok. “Did you see me fly?” That blew the secret. The next thing I knew Bill and I were in the office. Even though I seemed cool on the outside I was yelling at Bill on the inside. The secretary asked me if it was a joke, but I said no. 1

he said in a hyper voice. He leaped in air. The voice sounded so hyper it was as if he had two pounds of sugar for breakfast. I called him Bill and thought that he was really cool. I decided to take him to my school.. The first moment I had, I chucked Bill inside my desk. I thought he would be as snug as a bug. As I whistled I overheard some kids talking about rocks. I thought that they saw me put the rock in my desk. I was happy because I thought I would be popular because of my rock. Then I heard the kids from recess come in the school. Yes, I thought to myself, Since I am bad at keeping a secret I yelled at the top of my lungs. “I have never seen him! He is not mine!” 72

That means that I could show them Bill. I was very exited. I thought that I could scam a couple of dollars by selling him to the class mates. Then my class cruised to P.E. I put my rock in the front of the class so he could learn. Then my ears heard something horrible. He started yelling at the class. 6 3

4 As I was going to show him to the class I opened my desk and I found a nasty surprise. The erasers on my pencils were gone. Then, I saw Bill stuffing his face. Chug! I was as mad as a tiger. Bill and I created such havoc that I had to get my card signed. “I could do that in my sleep. You call that work!” I was stunned from the noise that Bill made. I felt the cold hard fear grip the air. 5
