2 Developing skills in physical activity
Refine and adapt skills into techniques. E.g. to develop the technique of serving in tennis you need to co-ordinate the throw up of the ball, and your body and arm movements to strike the ball

3 Developing skills in physical activity
You also need to develop a range of different skills. E.g. in circuit training

4 Developing skills in physical activity
You also need to develop precision, control and fluency in skills. E.g. shooting in basketball Practise, practise, practise!

5 Making and applying decisions
Ability to select and use tactics, strategies and compositional ideas effectively in different creative, competitive and challenge-type contexts

6 Choose the right skills to show the judges in a gymnastics floor routine

7 Refine and adapt ideas and plans in response to changing circumstances
Refine and adapt ideas and plans in response to changing circumstances. E.g. put on an extra forward if you are losing with not long to go.

8 Plan and implement what needs practising to be able to perform more effectively. E.g. practise your tackling in rugby training to improve your defence

9 Recognising hazards and making decisions about how to control risks to yourself and others. E.g. whether to play on a frozen football pitch

10 Developing physical and mental capacity
Developing the strength, speed, stamina and flexibility (by following a fitness programme) to cope with the demands of different activities.

11 Having the mental determination to stick with a training programme and succeed

12 Evaluating and improving
This involves being able to analyse performance in physical activities and identify strengths and weaknesses

13 Also making decisions about how to improve your own and others performance and acting on these decisions. E.g. working hard in training to improve your shooting

14 Making informed choices about healthy, active lifestyles
Identifying the types of physical activity that are best suited to you and the types of role you might like to take on
