What does it do : PC helps people to do things - such as finding information, writing documents, viewing pictures, listening to sounds, etc. Advantage and Disadvantage of using an PC in business: Advantage: -Research and find information -Typing out a document -Communications -Can do business online Disadvantage : - Can easily get spam -Can hack important documents -Can’t carry around PC -Expensive to buy

Mainframes What does it do: Mainframe computer is a big computer. Which allows companies to process data. Advantage and Disadvantage of using an Mainframes in business: Advantage: -Can calculate millions and millions problem per second. -Can process huge amount of data very fast. -Can manage huge amount of computers Disadvantage : -They are large and are almost impossible to transport. -Very Expensive -Need and trained person to use it.

Laptops What does it do: A laptop does everything that a PC does but laptop is small and can be used anywhere. Advantage and Disadvantage of using an Laptop in business: Advantage: -Easy to carry around, can use anytime any where -Light weight -Easy to give presentation -LED screen use less power Disadvantage : -Laptops get more virus -Small keyboards -Can be stolen really easy, because its really small so anyone can take it away.

What does it do: Palmtop is a smaller version of an desktop and it does basic things like making small documents. Advantage and Disadvantage of using an Palmtop in business: Advantage: -Cheap to buy -Common programs: word processor, spreadsheet available -Small and handy -Useful for basic work in business Disadvantage : -It has a very small screen -Very small size, easy to misplace or get stolen -Cant store lots of data

What does it do: The main purpose of a personal digital assistant (PDA) is to act as an electronic organizer or day planner that is portable, easy to use and capable of sharing information with your PC. Advantage and Disadvantage of using an PDA in business: Advantage: -Portable -Easy to use anywhere, can even use in bus or trains or cars -Can be used like an mobile calls -Cheap to buy Disadvantage : -Very small so can get misplaced -Need to constantly recharge -Low quality, if dropped it can be broken easily -Not reliable for business
