7. Hungarian Ministry of Interrior Problems The main problem at the start was: setting up the secure connection between the Dactiloscopy Department and the EURODAC Central Unit. It was slower than expected, because of the complex technical task (connection throught the Hungarian Governmental Backbone Network, operated by the eGov Center of Prime Minister’s Office). Since 1 May 2004 the connection was interrupted twice. Minor additional problems: Installation of the new antivirus system was not smooth. A short power cut at the eGov Center of Prime Minister’s Office Somethimes poor quality of fingerprints and/or improper orientation of fingers on it.

9. Hungarian Ministry of Interrior Future tasks The most important task – systematic training for the employees of the Immigration Officein order to have BETTER QUALITY fingerprint cards Firsthand (direct) computerised connection between the Hungarian EURODAC team and DubliNET team.

10. Hungarian Ministry of Interrior Border registration system Annualy 100 million person cross the borders in average. The data of all persons from third countries are stored for 90 in the system, the data are automatically deleted afterwards. Each year about 18 million persons are recorded in the system.
