Tropical Rainforest Adaptations Needed for Survival Plants: Epiphyte- grows on tree branches to take advantage of sunlight. Animal: New world monkey: has prehensile tails that curl around branches to hold on. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.rainforesteducation.com/whitefaces.jpg&imgrefurl=h ttp://www.rainforesteducation.com/&usg=___p0tqMwMsj5XPlnZSxKbLJUINmg=&h=471&w=715&sz=238 &hl=en&start=7&zoom=1&tbnid=xjuYHakQM4fFsM:&tbnh=92&tbnw=140&ei=DJ35UKWMJ8LS2AW6o4HA CA&prev=/search%3Fq%3Drainforest%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox- a%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1

Tropical Rainforest Interactions of Biotic and Abiotic Biotic: Plants feed the animals. Animals hunt other animals. T he large trees compact soil holding it in place. Abiotic: Heavy rain helps trees grow. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.bergoiata.org/fe/trees/ Hoh%2520Rainforest,%2520Olympic%2520National%2520Park,%2520Washi ngton.jpg&imgrefurl=http://room42.wikispaces.com/Rainforest%2BClimate& usg=__PEARTiHtsjPYSTutNjRJHvYqejI=&h=1200&w=1600&sz=623&hl=en&st art=20&zoom=1&tbnid=2AyfsCs9bt4DXM:&tbnh=113&tbnw=150&ei=DJ35U KWMJ8LS2AW6o4HACA&prev=/search%3Fq%3Drainforest%26um%3D1%26 hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en- US:official%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1

What is Biodiversity? Biodiversity is the variety of plants and animals. They can be studied on many levels. Highest level is the scale of all the different things on Earth. On small scales you can study small areas like a pond. Greatest challenges in science are identifying and understanding the relationships between one another. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.australia.com/contentimages/explore- itineraries-rainforest- way.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.australia.com/explore/itineraries/rainforest- way.aspx&usg=__20751ITQSZXGGSsVaAx7SEwKjOs=&h=1080&w=1920&sz=634&hl=en&start =14&zoom=1&tbnid=lfn129VG4_dXkM:&tbnh=84&tbnw=150&ei=DJ35UKWMJ8LS2AW6o4HA CA&prev=/search%3Fq%3Drainforest%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox- a%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1

How does biodiversity contribute to the sustainability of an ecosystem? Biodiversity helps and ecosystem by providing food for all the animals. Helping to keep sustainability is key for a ecosystem, plants and animals help do this. Too many of a certain population can be a bad outcome. For example: a wolf needs to control the deer population so they are not overcome with the deer. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.islands.com/files/_images/ 201102/Dominica_Calendar_Wallpaper_1920x1200.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.i slands.com/wallpaper/rainforest- waterfall&usg=__OWW_9o5ST50k3epDKCyg2kp4Pyc=&h=1200&w=1920&sz=31 65&hl=en&start=10&zoom=1&tbnid=wXiKVvrdjPM8AM:&tbnh=94&tbnw=150& ei=DJ35UKWMJ8LS2AW6o4HACA&prev=/search%3Fq%3Drainforest%26um%3D 1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en- US:official%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1
