3 SACS Definitions and Impacts Off-Campus Instructional Sites Definition: “An off-campus instructional site is a teaching site located geographically apart from the main campus [Gainesville, FL]. A site at which an institution provides electronic delivery and where students go to access the support services needed is also considered an off-campus instructional site. The site is not independent of the institution’s main campus.” (p. 119, SACSCOC Resource Manual May 2012)

4 SACS Definitions and Impacts Off-Campus Instructional Sites Impact: Every college needs to be aware of this definition and report any prospective sites PRIOR to implementation. -If 50% or more of a degree program will be delivered at the site, SACSCOC approval prior to implementation is required. -If 25-49% of a degree program will be delivered at the site, UF is required to notify SACSCOC prior to implementation.

5 SACS Definitions and Impacts Off-Campus Instructional Sites Impact: This is especially important for certificate programs where 3 credits could constitute 25% of a 12 credit certificate program. -Must include physical address of the site. -UF must notify SACSCOC if this location changes along with impact of address change.
