2. 10 min: Silent Reading Tom Sawyer: –Today we will be discussing Chapters 1-5/6 –As you read, you may write down questions you have about the reading and sections you want to discuss as a class.

3. Warm-up: Discussion Day Using your own notes and/or book, complete the top portion of the Discussion Day handout.

4. Small Group Discussion/Activity Each person will ask one question to the table. How do the others in the book “see” Tom? –Complete the graphic organizer using evidence from the book.

5. Group Discussion How do the others in the book “see” Tom? Questions from the warm-up?
