Brooks Academy’s Writers’ Workshop Featuring Author: Ms. Stella Pope Duarte April 13 – 20, 2007

Students Welcome Ms.Duarte Ms.Duarte has written several books such as Fragile Night, Let Their Spirits Dance, and her upcoming book, The Women of Juarez Project. 4-8 th grades

Workshop Information This workshop was designed to help students freely express themselves, better their writing, and pull out their inner writer.

Students Worked Hard on Their Writings Every student in the workshop got the chance to write stories and/ or poems. They worked together in a peaceful and quiet environment.

Students got a chance to share their writings. It was amazing to see Kiondra McNeal get the courage to volunteer to read her writings out loud. Everyone enjoyed being at the workshop.

Students Felt Great Sharing Their Thoughts. Damaris Zacarias was one of many students who liked to share her very inspirational poems and stories with everyone.

Many Students Read Their Writings on Stage. Breuna Meadows (center) was encouraged to read her poem by friends Shaniese Childers (left), and Ne’Cole Motten (right).

Future Writers Ms. Duarte even had a great impact on younger children. They also enjoyed her being there.

Ms.Duarte is Really Appreciated at Brooks Academy! Thank you Ms. Duarte for everything that you have done for US!!! You are apart of the Brooks family.
