3 Proposal Development Your Fundraiser must work closely with Programmes to understand the opportunities they offer and how to position them appropriately and accurately for a given funder Writing clear and persuasive proposals Preparing written materials related to institutional giving: letters of inquiry, programme budgets, reports, acknowledgements, and all other forms of correspondence with institutional donors.

Physique of your Proposals Title : Must be creative and reflect your vision Body: Use paragraphs clearly; put one idea in each paragraph. Each body paragraph has to include: The topic sentence, supporting sentences (2-3 sentences), development sentences (evidence: example, experience, data). Put the topic sentence at the beginning of each body paragraph. Connect paragraphs with cohesion. Funneling down the problem statement 4

5 Do not repeat ideas using different words Use Linkers Use apt words : Avoid informal language Pay attention to spelling, grammar and punctuation; donor will loose the meaning for your mistakes Budget: Clear Design Spend several time re-reading and do the correction
