4 Business Capabilities Every CIM Users Group Member or Guest Can: – Be known through a User Profile.User Profile – Track What’s New on CIMug or other sites (UCA, Open Smart Grid, IEC TC 57, IEC 61850)CIMugUCAOpen Smart GridIEC TC 57IEC 61850 – Submit help desk requests and get answers. – Search by keyword across any of these sites – Contribute content (documents, discussions, blogs, wikis, etc.) and receive alerts on any activity – Create subsites for projects, working groups, or member-specific activity All operations are automatically permission-limited

6 Two Types of Role Assignments User Group Roles – Configured by UCAIug Admin – Guest – Individual Member – Corporate Member - company or corporation – Corporate Rep - speaks, votes, and manages corporate payment Sharepoint Site Roles – Configured by each Site Owner – Guest – Views Content – Member – Contributes Content – Owner – Sets up site and assigns permissions

7 Important Note for Corporate Employees If you think your company may have a corporate membership. – First check the list of Member Companieslist of Member Companies – Then create your account, and use your corporate email address Your corporate email address qualifies you for discount registration at meetings. If you set up your account with a personal email address, you may not get the membership discount (we do not cross-check after the fact)

8 Understanding Permissions We apply three permission levels – Full Control: least restrictive – for Owners – Contribute: can view, add, update, and delete previously created items – for Members – Read: most restrictive – can view and read pages including the resource libraries – for Guests Permission levels are assigned to roles, then roles to individuals Permission settings can be applied at any level – Site level – Document Library or List level – Individual file level
