Report of Non-University Activities Discloser Responsibilities Obtain prior approval from UEO for non-University activities Employee’s primary responsibility is to the University Make an annual Full Disclosure of non-University Activities Under University Policy, identification of conflicts is facilitated by our annual disclosure process in September, currently the Report of Non-University Activities.

Report of Non-University Activities Discloser Responsibilities Academic staff members must disclose: external relationships that constitute actual or potential conflicts of interest, all non-university income producing activities [and] any other relationships, commitments, or activities on the part of academic staff members or their immediate family that might present or appear to present a conflict of commitment or interest with regard to their university appointment.

Report of Non-University Activities UEO Responsibilities The Unit Executive Officer: reviews requests for approval of non-university income producing activities and other (i.e., situation-specific) conflict of interest disclosures, evaluates the nature and extent of actual or potential conflicts, and works with academic staff members to manage or eliminate such conflicts.

Report of Non-University Activities UEO Responsibilities The Unit Executive Officer: may request additional information from the discloser must notify the employee of approval or denial, in writing, within a reasonable period of time, ordinarily fourteen calendar days

How will the process change this year? 1.RNUAs submitted electronically “Form” looks different 2.Routing to UEO and second level is automated. UEO can return disclosure for revisions/more information. Automated email will prompt disclosers to update disclosure. 3.Review status of disclosure and all comments are visible to discloser, facilitator, UEO, and view only users.

What do I need to know as a discloser? 1.Important Dates September 14, 2015: Employees notified of RNUA submission deadlines October 5, 2015: RNUA due for department review 2.Items to Prepare Names of University personnel or students involved in the activity Intellectual property Related research
