Course Description: 2 HRM is part of management field of study. It presents the basic concepts and methods in which an organization/ institution study and use for their respective human resource planning, recruitment, selection, orientation, training and development, performance appraisal, compensation, and safety and health. The course will enable students/participants to develop necessary skills for managing human resources, pertaining to achieve organizational goals.

Course Objectives: 3 At the end of this course, participants should be able to: understand core human resource management procedures, including job analysis, HR planning, recruitment, selection, orientation, training and development, performance appraisal, compensation, and safety and health in both private companies and NGOs. understand how these practices can be successfully developed and implemented in the context of today’s environment.

Course Objectives (Cont.) 4 At the end of this course, participants should be able to: develop an understanding of HR importance to an organization and learn about the manager’s role in the HR process. Research, analyze, and interpret realistic and practical applications of personnel concepts.

CLASS EXPECTATIONS CLASS EXPECTATIONS: 5 Students are expected to attend class, take notes, and participate by asking questions or participating in class discussions. Your attendance and participation will be considered in your final grade. Cheating is strictly prohibited, it will result in a failing grade for the course. All assignments must be turned in during class. No use of MP3 and MP4 players during class. Telephone keeps silent mode.
