K-5 Gifted Inclusion Model Gifted superior cognitive students are clustered together and served in the regular classroom through differentiated instruction with the support of the gifted intervention specialist. * Students needs are met in the classroom * Instructional decisions are based on regular assessments assessments * Teacher and intervention specialist work together to the meet the needs of the gifted learners needs of the gifted learners

What is Differentiated Instruction? Differentiated instruction is a philosophy in which the teacher is aware that students differ in how they learn and that the best teachers are actively responsive to those differences.

Gifted Written Education Plan Written Education Plan (WEP) Classroom teacher plans instruction for gifted student Record of gifted services Communication tool The WEP stays with classroom teacher until the end of the year, then is passed on to future teacher A WEP is not the same as an IEP
