8 User Profiles When starting Victor Reader Soft, the “User Profile” window opens. User Profiles let you save custom audio and display settings. User 1 profile might be used to save settings for a person with visual impairments. 13 To open a book Click the “Open Book” button Highlight “Favorites” in the Source box (you’ve already added all current books here) From the booklist, highlight the book you want to read, and click www.cast.org DE | GA | IA | LA | ME | MA | MI | MN | MO | NY | PA | UT | VT | WI

16 Navigate using Page tools In the toolbar, you may type in a page number and click “Go” (Green light icon). Or, you may use the Page arrows to move one page forward or backward. www.cast.org DE | GA | IA | LA | ME | MA | MI | MN | MO | NY | PA | UT | VT | WI

17 Navigate by “Elements” To navigate by “Elements”, open the Navigation Menu, highlight “Navigation Elements”, and choose an element (Level 1, page, phrase, sentence, etc) Use the left and right arrows on your keyboard to move to the previous or next element. www.cast.org DE | GA | IA | LA | ME | MA | MI | MN | MO | NY | PA | UT | VT | WI

18 Navigate by Annotations Annotations include bookmarks, highlights and text notes that have been added by the user. Using the Annotations menu, you may move to any of these markers. www.cast.org DE | GA | IA | LA | ME | MA | MI | MN | MO | NY | PA | UT | VT | WI

19 Customizing Audio Go to the Settings menu and highlight Audio to change the audio options. For example, sighted users may want to silence the application messages that are used by persons with vision impairments. 22 Adding Annotations Bookmark and text note tools are also found in the toolbar. Bookmarks, highlights and text notes are all called “annotations.” Use the Annotations Menu, or the annotation toolbar tools to insert or go to annotations.
