Good News: Last Spring, the Legislature redefined Basic Education, eliminating district-to-district inequity (when fully funded). 1.“ Prototype Schools” - Levels the Playing Field 2.Teacher Training, Collaboration, Mentoring 3.Voluntary ‘Pre-K’ - for at-risk kids 3 & 4 year olds.

Good News: Last Spring, the Legislature redefined Basic Education, eliminating district-to-district inequity (when fully funded). Bad News: The State will have to come up with $8 Million, to bring Auburn up to State Average. With the $2.6 Billion deficit next year, they won’t be able to do it until ~2011. But they’ll never do it if we don’t ask!
